Jenny Dickinson (APIOL)

Jenny DickinsonJen has been working professionally in the outdoors for over 12 years. From an early age a passion for kayaking led to trips into the mountains, and to local Climbing crags.

Her outdoor career began in a centre in Shropshire, and led to a range of interesting and varied positions around the UK and Europe. Settling in the highlands for a while the world of freelance offered work in a variety of fields, including centre work with children, charity events, city youth development, guiding trips/expeditions around the world as well as adventure training in the Alps.

More recently Jen has taken on the challenge of management and apprentice training, and is continuing to develop her coaching skills in canoeing and skiing.

With experience of guiding expeditions in Central and Southern America, Asia and Europe she finds an ever growing passion for nature, and is in her element when out on the water or exploring up in the mountains.

An International Mountain Leader, Jen is also a BCU Aspirant L5 coach in open canoe, L3 in inland and Sea kayaking, and a BASI Alpine ski Instructor.

Jen is an Accredited Practitioner for the Institute of Outdoor Learning, and an NLP practitioner.
Simon Conroy

Simon ConroyOriginally from Cornwall Si has enjoyed sport from tennis at 12 years old through to climbing today at 42. Completing 22 years service in the Royal Marines, Si was a Physical Training Instructor for the majority of his time served, leaving recently as a Warrant officer.

A successful gymnast, his talents range from organising and running climbing expeditions in Yosemite to winter skills in the Alps, kayaking and the odd spot of surfing of the Cornish and Devonshire coasts.

More recently Si has taken his skiing experiences over the years in Norway and developed as a BASI Alpine instructor, and now follows his passion for Telemark skiing. A keen climber and mountaineer, he has climbed many peaks in Europe and spends much of his working day teaching climbing and klettersteiging (via ferrata).

Si also began Open Canoeing in 2005, enjoying the calm flat waters alongside the thrill of the White water he has found another way to develop a connection with nature through expeditions.

He is currently working towards BCU/UKCC courses. In the mountains, with a wealth of experience and military qualifications, Si is also a summer ML, and is aiming for Winter ML this season leading onto the International Mountain Leader assessment during 2008.
